I had the misfortune of “feeling the burn” that is assoiciated with a urinary tract or bladder infection this week. Just another opportunity to appriciate the power of essential oils and products that we use I figure. Over the years I’ve come to the realization that there are several factors involved.
Of course drinking adequate water is very important. It’s so logical that it hardly needs explaining but since some may not be aware of the connection, we will discuss it. When the body is dehydrated and the frequent flushing out of the urinary tract is not taking place we set ourselves up for being a host to an unwelcome guests. We are exposed to bacteria every day but there are things we can do to avoid being a host. This applices to many other areas too such as respiratory infection.
Drinking ample amounts of water every day, the excess fluid not only keeps the urinary passageways clear, it also helps connective tissues to stay hydrated, which keeps them lubricated and functioning properly. Have you ever noticed that some nights you are comfortable and sleep well, but on other occasions you wonder why your mattress is so hard and uncomfotable? Drink more water on a dailiy basis and see if that doesn’t make a difference. I know it works for me.
Ok, back to
the infection issue. Another thing I’ve discovered is that due to dehydration, my bowels are also backed up when I have experienced a urinary tract infection. The increased fluid intake helps releave this problem too. I’m not a physician, so this is my personal expernience here but, it seems that having the bowls backed up put pressure on the bladder or create blockages that prevent the urinary tract from flowing freely. There is help for cleansing the bowles too. The Cleansing Trio.
Another factor may be caused by kidney stones. When a stone passes throught the urinary tract from the kidney to the
bladder they may cause blockage which keeps the urine from passing through freely and alowing the bacteria to take hold. I’ve experienced this too and found that a 00 capsule filled with 1/2 lemon essential oil and 1/2 frankinsence oil taken internataly relieved the pain caused by the stone and I’ve never felt that again.
So, what to do when you have an infection in the urinary tract… Young Living carries a product called K&B just for such occasions. K&B is a tinture that is d
iluted in water and taken three droppers full, three times per day. I also used a product called “Inner Deffence”. Inner Deffense is a softgel with a blend of essential oils containing very high anti-microbial properties. This helps rid the bacteria from the blood stream and gives an internal approach to ridding the body of the unwanted guest.
Again NingXia Red with it’s proven immune system enhancing properties, when consumed daily will help prevent infections by supporting the immune system.
Of course it doesn’t hurt to drink cranberry juice. Be careful what you purchase as most are a “coctail” from concentrate and are high in fructose corn syrup.
My results? The burning is gone and normal function has returned.
